Important questions to ask yourself

Before starting this blog, I was going through this frenzy of trying to understand my purpose in life, what I should be doing with my time, etc. I am a heavy believer in intuition. So, once I took the time to understand how to communicate with my intuition, one of the first issues I brought up was life purpose. I asked for guidance & went about my day. A couple of days later, I found myself looking up videos of people discussing finding their purpose & how they did it. Several youtubers read out a list of questions that could ask yourself in order to narrow down what your purpose is. Out of the 10 or so questions, only one stood out to me: “If you only had one year to live, what would you do with your time?”

This clicked in my mind & set off my intuition effortlessly. I adore questions like this since it can be jarring as well as thought provoking. It scares you for just a moment; forcing you to remember that none of us know how long we have on this earth. Once that kicks in, suddenly you’ll have clarity. Other questions you could ask yourself include:

-“How do I want to be remembered after I am dead & gone?”

-“How do I want people to remember me (whether they liked me or not) after I am gone?

-“What do I want my obituary to say about me?”

-“How do I want to leave my mark in this (shitty) world?”

-” What legacy do I want to leave behind?”

-What would I regret NOT doing if I knew death was near?”

-“What impact do I want to have one the world or within a specific community?”

These are questions that can inspire you to make changes right now. Questions like this force you into an unusual & uncomfortable perspective. But as the author, Caroline Myss, states “intuition makes you uncomfortable, fantasy doesn’t”. Discomfort makes us ready & willing to make changes. When you are too comfortable, the last thing on your mind is to make any changes to your life. Life should be lived doing what makes you happy as well as remembering that you need to make the most out of it. At least try. The questions above helped me gain the courage to write this blog & I hope it helps you gain the courage to do that thing you have been putting off because of possible fear, being discouraged, not feeling adequate enough. Let these questions challenge said fear, discouragement or inadequacy. Start living that way you want to right now. It may lead you to the life you’ve always wanted.
